I will give the film credit for showing the brutally of the Gestapo in the interrogations scene. And the final last stand in the church is honestly pretty intense. It holds up much better than the rest of the film.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-54039740592871204802019-06-11T14:34:22.739-05:002019-06-11T14:34:22.739-05:00I honestly found this movie boring and dull for th...I honestly found this movie boring and dull for the most part, and just forgettable. It is such a shame because the Czech are an often overlooked part in WW2. That being said, I do commend the movie for being accurate for the most part; the Gestapo torture and interrogation scenes were horrifying. I loved how the film did not shun away from it. The assassination scene was also pretty well edited, especially when the men all flee, and the impression is that they have failed as Heydrich (gotten also give the film credit for having an actor who looks just like him) seems uninjured, yet he suddenly collapses and starts to have trouble breathing, and you then see the blood and shrapnel hole behind him. I have always found that powerful; despite what it first seems, the cruel monster has really been heavily injured. The church shootout scene was pretty intense as well, especially since it is very satisfying seeing Nazi SS men getting mowed down, and not the regular average German solider, as it usually is (regardless of whether they are a nazi or not, they are simply just soldiers doing their job).

Even though there have been other movies about the event, I would like to see a really good Anthropoid movie, perhaps in the style of Tom Cruise's Valkyrie. Another good one in a similar vein is Hanna's War (1988).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
