However, having read the book I can vouch for We Were Soldiers being one of the most accurate combat movies, with the exception of the ending. Surprisingly, even the NVA commander is based on an actual person.

I will have to read up on whether Moore was as religious as Gibson portrays him. I would bet Gibson insisted on that aspect being added in. He even makes a point of being a Catholic.

Another thing to note that "We Were Soldiers" is brought to us by the same pair (writer-director Randall Wallace and Gibson) that delivered that historical atrocity Braveheart. Compared to that earlier effort, We Were Soldiers is shining light of accuracy! Maybe they want to get into Heaven.

I have to admit I was a bit put off by my research that showed that the Bielski brothers used the women for their sexual favors. You certainly do not get that in the movie.War Movie Buffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05999735218343872013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-58583016847583907512011-03-20T04:17:56.399-05:002011-03-20T04:17:56.399-05:00I haven't watched all of Definace yet, therefo...I haven't watched all of Definace yet, therefore I have no opinion and won't read you assessment as I might watch it shortly.allaboutwarmovieshttp://allaboutwarmovies.comnoreply@blogger.com
