But it is not like the Pentagon insisted that he not enlist. I just find it ironic that for a man who was so careful with his screen image, he did not act like a "John Wayne" when it came to the war. But mostly I thought the clue was pithy.War Movie Buffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05999735218343872013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-65650374941718310352017-03-04T10:35:01.588-06:002017-03-04T10:35:01.588-06:00How many movies are we talking about here?

John Wayne, regardless of what you believe about his attempts (or lack thereof) to enlist in the armed forces during the war probably did more for the war effort by continuing to make pictures than he would have if he had been in active military service for several years.

Similarly, Greer Garson who wanted to return to England during the Blitz was told by the British Ambassador to the U.S. that her value to her country in the services would have been "two pounds-ten a week", but if she continued making films like Mrs. Miniver her worth was "incalculable".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8irGzD7h_PE
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-83351617560588251412017-03-03T12:10:43.712-06:002017-03-03T12:10:43.712-06:00Bridges of Toko-Ri, The Deer Hunter, They Were Exp...Bridges of Toko-Ri, The Deer Hunter, They Were Expendable.LCBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03146393047895889252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-76659739736291738362017-03-02T01:29:09.608-06:002017-03-02T01:29:09.608-06:00"Bridges at Toko-Ri", "The Deer Hun..."Bridges at Toko-Ri", "The Deer Hunter", ???

Please review Shin Sang-ok's "Red Scarf".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
