I would describe it as an action film with humor in it.the war movie buffnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-56590107019748023292011-06-26T00:15:04.614-05:002011-06-26T00:15:04.614-05:00Oddly enough, you're missing the best one of a...Oddly enough, you're missing the best one of all: Kelly's Heroes.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-78026266075933457822011-04-30T22:43:25.414-05:002011-04-30T22:43:25.414-05:00I would put "Mister Roberts" at #2, but ...I would put "Mister Roberts" at #2, but you could certainly argue that it is the best. Plus being in B/W adds to the feel of the movie.
My personal favorite on the list would be Mister Roberts. Good blend of comedy and drama and some fine acting by Jack Lemmon and James Cagney. Even tho it takes place in the "backwater" of the war in the pacific its got a nice "those who serve" feeling to it. really more of an expanded play, but To Be Or is somewhat that way also.
You could add maybe Mike Nichol's Biloxi Blues. Good christopher Walken role in that one.JHardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12975399049775935074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-52229331582656569282011-04-29T13:10:30.092-05:002011-04-29T13:10:30.092-05:00It's the only one I've seen that's why...It's the only one I've seen that's why I wrote "hardly".
