The top twenty is strong. The problem was with the panel, I feel. Some were more interested in historical movies than with movies about history.War Movie Buffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05999735218343872013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-29834842156552578042011-04-17T01:09:30.627-05:002011-04-17T01:09:30.627-05:00I guess they did not reevaluate all the movies. They did decidedly prefer American movies too.
All in all it isn't a helpful list.allaboutwarmovieshttp://allaboutwarmovies.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-73858741099216360722011-04-16T13:56:13.223-05:002011-04-16T13:56:13.223-05:00Good questions. Here is the breakdown:
1920s - 4
30s - 10
40s - 23
50s - 15
60s - 16
70s - 11
80s - 8
90s - 7
2000s - 4
This shows a definite preference for older movies, which is not surprising for critics.
The most recent film was "Letters from Iwo Jima" (2006)
I do not think the panel cared that much about historical accuracy. This is one reason I disagree a lot about some of the selections.War Movie Buffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05999735218343872013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7201660899514011402.post-15746790841390236392011-04-16T13:14:56.061-05:002011-04-16T13:14:56.061-05:00I never asked how old this 100 top movies list is?...I never asked how old this 100 top movies list is? Or did they mabe try to cover all the decades? Did you calculate. That could be a reason? Which is the youngest again? If the y chose 10 for the 40s it might explain how it made it... Else it is really only about historical accuracy.allaboutwarmovieshttp://allaboutwarmovies.comnoreply@blogger.com
