My choice for the O movie that best exemplifies the war genre is "Oh! What a Lovely War". I chose it because it shows that the genre even includes musicals. And war movies can be used to bring audiences back to the past by introducing them to (or reminding them of) music from an earlier era. The film is packed with WWI-era songs. And before you say that a musical can not truly show the reality of war, this movie is one of the best anti-war movies ever made.
