“I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a
hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn’t find
one of ‘em, not one stinkin’ dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline
smell, the whole hill. Smelled like … victory. Someday this war’s gonna end.”
What is this movie? Flora and fauna represent Mother Nature in her battle with war on a Pacific island.
The picture is from The Manchurian Candidate. The quote is from Apocalypse: Now. And I think the hint is The Thin Red Line.

Thin Red LIne
Great job. Thanks for commenting. 1. The scene from "Manchurian Candidate" where they are being brainwashed via a garden party. 2. Col. Kilgore on the beach in "Apocalypse Now" getting ready for the surfing. 3. Terence Malick's pretentious epic about Guadalcanal told from the perspective of Mother Nature. An extremely polarizing movie - put be down on the side of those who think it is crap.
ReplyDeleteI agree about The Thin Red Line. The book was ok...but I still haven't figured out what the movie and book have in common except the title.
