In "Sands of Iwo Jima," I expected Forest Tucker to redeem himself by jumping on a grenade to save his squad, or something. Maybe that was too much of a cliche', even back then.
ReplyDeleteGood point. I think his apologizing for his coffee break and then being a good soldier after that was considered enough. I'm trying to remember if anyone else jumped on a grenade. If not, that would be odd because it happened an amazing 7 times during the Battle of Iwo Jima.
